Social Life
Residents have both formal and informal opportunities for developing esprit de corps during their residency training. Interns participate in a week-end retreat in the Texas Hill Country for interpersonal team building. PL-2 residents have an annual day-long retreat for orientation, examining career options, and receiving information on medical licensure and related matters. In June, residents at all levels participate in the annual graduation and end-of-year party. The residents have a dedicated office and conference room on the 7th floor of the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Children's Hospital, a place for informal networking and where they have access to reference texts, computers, and space for keeping personal items. Over the years, residents establish their own internal support groups and develop deep and lasting friendships.
