CHROMOSOME 18 CLINICAL RESEARCH CENTER

Current Studies

Remember that, in order to take part in these studies, families must be enrolled in the Chromosome 18 Clinical Research Center.

To understand how chromosome 18 changes affect a person’s health and development, we bring some study participants to San Antonio to undergo a thorough series of clinical evaluations at the Chromosome 18 Clinical Research Center.

Although we can gain a great deal of information from the clinical evaluations, we recognize that we cannot get the whole picture of a person’s health and development from spending just a few short days with them.  Therefore, we request any and all medical records that are available on the research participant to help us fill in the gaps. Frequently, we send questionnaires to families who are participating in our research study.  The goal of these questionaires is to learn more about the neuropsychological effects of a chromosome 18 change. The types ofquestionaires we send include executive functioning, memory development, attention capacity, language and motor skill development and social/personality development.
