Grant Activities

Forensic Medical Assessment Network (October 2006 to August 2007)

The Division of Child Abuse Pediatrics at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio is one of four UT medical school programs designed as a center of excellence to establish a statewide system to provide medical consultation and support to Child Protective Services (CPS). Funding is provided through Senate Bill 6 and is anticipated to extend through 2009.

Court Improvement Project (2005 to present)

Funding for staffings at CPS is provided by the Children's Justice Act Grant of the Texas Judiciary Commission.

Sexual Violence Prevention in Primary Care Practices (2005 to 2008)

Division Chief Dr. Nancy Kellogg is the principal investigator with the American Academy of Pediatrics for this Center for Disease Control grant to assess pediatrician knowledge about sexual violence and to develope a tool kit for primary care providers.
